Regular Season Round 11: San-en - Hokkaido L. 86-80

Everything could happen in Hamamatsu at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix and 5th ranked Hokkaido L. had identical 3-7 record. This time San-en NeoPhoenix used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Saporro 86-80 on Saturday night. It was a great shooting night for San-en NeoPhoenix especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San-en NeoPhoenix (4-7) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. San-en NeoPhoenix will face again Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round.
