Regular Season Round 9: Charleville - Aubenas 89-100

There was an upset when higher ranked Charleville-Mezieres (3-6) lost at home to twelfth ranked Aubenas (2-7) 100-89 on Saturday. Aubenas shot 62.5 percent from the field. Aubenas had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Aubenas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for guard Alexandre Karolak (192-95) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 assists. Forward Oumarou Baradji (202-89) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Xane dAlmeida (181-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals and Eric Bosc (200-93) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Charleville-Mezieres. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Aubenas maintains twelfth place in Group A with 2-7 record, which they share with GET Vosges and Kaysersberg. Loser Charleville-Mezieres dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Aubenas will face higher ranked Saint Vallier (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
