Regular Season Round 4: Quimper - Gries/Oberhoffen 98-96

Quimper UJAP's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (1-3) 98-96. Quimper UJAP players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Travis Cohn (188-89, college: Jacksonville, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 assists and the other American import guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) who added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Spanish forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (199-88) responded with 32 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and Spanish guard Xavier Forcada (193-88) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists. Five Quimper UJAP and four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Gries/Oberhoffen. Quimper UJAP will play against higher ranked Saint Chamond (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against Denain Voltaire (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
