Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked La Rochelle (4-5) rolled over at home 13th ranked Brissac Anjou (2-7) 74-53 on Saturday. It was a good game for naturalized Guinean forward Abdoulaye Sy (200-95) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Philippe Papiyon (202-88) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four La Rochelle players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Moise Diame (206-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and guard Matthieu Robin (184-92) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Brissac Anjou. La Rochelle moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with Union Tours and RAC Basket. Brissac Anjou lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. La Rochelle will face higher ranked Toulouse (#8) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brissac Anjou will play against Union Tours (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
