Regular Season Round 4: HNMKY - HoNsU 97-52

HNMKY's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat HoNsU (2-4) 97-52. The game without a history. HNMKY led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding HoNsU to just 4 points in fourth quarter. HNMKY dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to HoNsU's 34. HNMKY forced 21 HoNsU turnovers and outrebounded them 65-44 including a 28-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Center Max Besselink (197-2) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Guard Markus Kataja (188-0) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five HNMKY players scored in double figures. Guard Tiitus Kuukkanen (193-0) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Ville Virtaharju (201-0) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. HNMKY (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Honka. HoNsU at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. HNMKY's next round opponent will be league's second-placed KTP in Kotka and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
