Regular Season Round 7: Pardinyes-L. - Martinenc 105-102

Ninth-ranked Martinenc (2-5) gave a tough game to leader Pardinyes-L. (7-0) in Lleida on Saturday. Pardinyes-L. managed to secure only three-point victory 105-102. However their fans expected much easier game. Pardinyes-L. made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Pardinyes-L. outrebounded Martinenc 43-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for forward Carles Gasque (198-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Albert Lafuente (185-99) helped adding 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). At the losing side guard Marc Sese (190-93) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and power forward Aitor Perez (203-88) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Pardinyes-L.. They maintain first place in Group C-B with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Martinenc dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face Sant Adria (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Martinenc's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Barcelona JAC Sants.
