Regular Season Round 11: Chiba Jets - Hitachi SR 85-83

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chiba Jets as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Toyama Grouses) loss. Chiba Jets edged 6th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers at home 85-83. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) accounted for 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) added 20 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Hitachi Sunrockers in the defeat. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Chiba Jets. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Nagoya DD and Tochigi Brex. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Chiba Jets will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers at Tokyo.
