Regular Season Round 6: Faenza - Civitanova 72-69

Important game to mention about took place in Faenza. Sixth ranked Faenza (5-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Civitanova (3-3) 72-69 on Saturday evening. Faenza made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Licia Schwienbacher (170-95) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Faenza players scored in double figures. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Maria-Chiara Ortolani (178-97) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Civitanova. Faenza maintains sixth position in A2 with 5-1 record. Civitanova at the other side dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Faenza will play against higher ranked Palermo (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Civitanova will play against Umbertide (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
