Regular Season Round 5: Ragusa - Podravac 89-62

Everything could happen in Dubrovnik at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Ragusa and 8th ranked Podravac had identical 1-3 record. This time Ragusa used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Virje 89-62 on Saturday night. Ragusa dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Podravac's 28. Ragusa forced 34 Podravac turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Montenegrin guard Zivana Jankovic (174-83) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international guard Carmen Miloglav (170-91, college: FIU, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 11 steals for the winners. Five Ragusa players scored in double figures. Petra Mihalic (-99) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Valentina Simunic (175-98) added 8 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Podravac. Podravac's coach Ivica Molnar gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ragusa (2-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sibenik. Podravac lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Ragusa will face bottom-ranked Plamen Pozega (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Podravac will play against the league's leader ZKK Split and will have a slim chance for a victory.
