Regular Season Round 5: ADBA - Cerdanyola 58-41

Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked ADBA (2-3) won against bottom-ranked Cerdanyola (0-5) in Aviles 58-41 on Saturday. ADBA held Cerdanyola to an opponent 19.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Center Carolina Ramos (190-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 6 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Bojana Kovacevic (191-96) contributed with 7 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Marta Arbizu (187-91) answered with 7 points and 12 rebounds and guard Blanca Garcia (183-89) added 9 points in the effort for Cerdanyola. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. ADBA moved-up to tenth place in Group A, which they share with Cortegada. Cerdanyola lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. ADBA will face higher ranked Mataro Parc (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cerdanyola will play against Coruna (#14) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
