An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Akita. Second ranked Diamond Dolphins faced 4th ranked Akita Happinets. Guests from Nagoya (10-2) defeated host Akita Happinets (3-9) 84-68. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Taito Nakahigashi (190-92) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Akita Happinets lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars and Yokohama BC. Diamond Dolphins will meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#5) in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
