Regular Season Round 5: Happy Casa BR - MIA-RO Cantu 76-59

The game between third ranked MIA-RO Cantu (3-2) and ninth ranked Happy Casa BR (3-2) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. MIA-RO Cantu was defeated by Happy Casa BR in Brindisi 76-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of MIA-RO Cantu. American point guard Wes Clark (183-94, college: Buffalo) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and Swedish-American Erik Rush (196-88, college: Montana St.) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Happy Casa BR's coach Francesco Vitucci used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import Tony Mitchell (198-89, college: Alabama) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Happy Casa BR moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated MIA-RO Cantu. Happy Casa BR is looking forward to face Fiat TO (#9) in Torino in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MIA-RO Cantu will play on the road against Virtus Bologna (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
