Regular Season Round 13: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo HT 92-70

There was no surprise in Nagoya where 5th ranked Tokyo HT (3-10) was crushed by second ranked Toyotsu FE (10-3) 92-70 on Sunday. Toyotsu FE made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Toyotsu FE had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) chipped in 29 points. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE's coach Ryuji Watanabe felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Hiroya Ogane (180-89) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Toyotsu FE have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sendai 89ers and Kumamoto V. Newly promoted Tokyo HT keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Toyotsu FE will face league's second-placed Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo HT will play at home against Aomori Watts and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
