There was an upset when higher ranked Chieti (3-3) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Nardo (2-4) 80-70 on Sunday. Point guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 27 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mathias Drigo (203-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Nardo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Edoardo Di-Emidio (190-93) with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Riziero Ponziani (205-94) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Nardo moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Crema and Olginate. Newly promoted Chieti dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Nardo will face Lamezia (#15) in Terme in the next round. Chieti will play at home against Campli (#16) and hope to win that game.
