Regular Season Round 5: Lima-Horta - Mataro Parc 53-43

There was a minor upset when 4th placed Mataro Parc (3-2) lost to eighth ranked Lima-Horta (3-2) in Barcelona 43-53 on Sunday. Forward Maria Martianez (189-97, college: ORU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Mireia Daura (185-99, college: Fair Dickinson) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Judy Jones (175-90, college: Grand Canyon) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Itziar Llobet (181-93, college: Kent St.) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mataro Parc. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Lima-Horta. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Mataro Parc. Lima-Horta will face league's second-placed Real Celta Vigo on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mataro Parc will play against ADBA and hope to win that game.
