There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Corato (3-3) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Ancona Luciana (3-2) 82-77 on Sunday. Ancona Luciana made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game, while Corato only scored five points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Ancona Luciana especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Point guard Simone Centanni (187-91, agency: Interperformances) scored 22 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Riccardo Casagrande (196-88) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Ancona Luciana players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Leonardo Marini (205-95) with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and swingman Andrea Morresi (192-91) scored 17 points. Ancona Luciana moved-up to sixth place in B. Corato at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Ancona Luciana will face league's leader San Severo on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Corato will play against Pescara (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
