Very predictable result in Caserta where third ranked Deco (5-1) smashed 14th ranked Pozzuoli (1-5) 109-53 on Sunday. They outrebounded Pozzuoli 45-29 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Deco shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Guard Niccolo Petrucci (193-89) scored 30 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Argentinian center Marcelo Dip (205-84, agency: Players Group) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Deco players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nicola Longobardi (-96) with 15 points and Ernesto Carrichiello (196-84) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Deco moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Vicenza. Pozzuoli at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Deco will face Valmontone (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pozzuoli will play against Battipaglia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
