Regular Season Round 5: Den Bosch - Leiden 83-91

The game between third ranked Den Bosch (4-2) and leader Leiden (4-0) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Den Bosch was defeated by Leiden in a tough game in Den Bosch 83-91. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Den Bosch. Leiden made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Darius Thompson (193-95, college: W.Kentucky) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). His fellow American import center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St., agency: Court Side) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized British guard Devon Van-Oostrum (190-93, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Payton Henson (203-94, college: Vermont) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Leiden and five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Leiden have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Den Bosch at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Leiden are looking forward to face league's second-placed Groningen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Den Bosch will have a break next round.
