Regular Season Round 6: Akropol - Hammarby 82-88

Date: November 4, 2018
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Stockholm: Hammarby (#6) and Akropol (#2). Akropol was defeated at home 82-88 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 27-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Hammarby made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Akropol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Ramendra Haag (187-90) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Leo Lightner (190-96) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Hammarby players scored in double figures. Naturalized Serbian forward Dragan Damjanovic (203-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists and Said Mohamd Dabourh (-93) added 17 points in the effort for Akropol. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hammarby (3-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Akropol and KFUM Blackeberg. Hammarby is looking forward to face league's leader Taby Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Akropol will play against KFUM Blackeberg in Vallingby and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
