There was no surprise when 15th ranked Palermo GB (1-5) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Olimpia Matera (5-1) 78-72 on Sunday. Olimpia Matera made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Point guard Daniele Merletto (175-93) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Maurizio Del Testa (187-89) chipped in 19 points during the contest.
