Regular Season Round 5: Olimpia - Tsmoki-Minsk 60-73

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Olimpia (4-1) in Grodno on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Tsmoki-Minsk (5-0) 73-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Olimpia. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk. Olimpia managed to win third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Olimpia 48-32 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international center Viktoryia Hasper (192-88) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Ksenya Vabishchevich (182-94) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Tsmoki-Minsk's coach Andrey Vavleu used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International swingman Arina Masko (175-99) produced 12 points and 5 steals and the former international Darya Mahalias (180-93) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Tsmoki-Minsk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gorizont. Olimpia at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. Tsmoki-Minsk is looking forward to face BrGU COR Victoria (#4) in Brest in the next round. Olimpia will play on the road against RGUOR in Minsk and is hoping to win this game.
