Regular Season Round 6: Salerno - Roma S.Azzurra 91-89

There was a change at the Serie B leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Roma S.Azzurra (4-1). They were edged by second ranked Salerno (5-1) 91-89 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the top position in B. 24 personal fouls committed by Roma S.Azzurra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Roberto Maggio (183-90) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Salerno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bosnian-Serbian power forward Njegos Visnjic (200-79) with 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Cameroonian guard Tcheussi-Aristide Mouaha (190-0) scored 22 points and 5 assists. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Stefano Bizzozi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Salerno keeps a position of B leader, which they share with Vicenza. Roma S.Azzurra at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with Tigers C.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Faenza. Roma S.Azzurra will play next round against Palermo GB trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Salerno will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Capo d'Orlando on the road.
