Regular Season Round 8: Le Portel - Chalon 82-85

The most exciting game of round 8 in the ProA took place in Le Portel. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Le Portel (4-4) to second ranked Chalon/Saor (6-2) 85-82 on Monday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Power forward Darrell Williams (203-89, college: Tex.A&M-Comm., agency: BeoBasket) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Anthony Hilliard (195-86, college: Elizabeth City) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Chalon/Saor maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader ASVEL. Le Portel at the other side keeps the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Chalon/Saor are looking forward to face JDA Dijon (#4) at home in the next round. Le Portel will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
