Regular Season Round 8: Shandong GS - Xinjiang FT 111-118

Everything could happen in Jinan at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige and 10th ranked Golden Stars had identical 4-3 record. But Golden Stars were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Urumqi 118-111 on Tuesday night. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 33-of-39 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game, while Golden Stars only scored twelve points from the stripe. Xinjiang Flying Tige looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Golden Stars were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: IPZ) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 48 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals and international Abudushalamu Abudurexiti (203-96) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige (5-3) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Guangzhou LL and Shenzhen L. Loser Golden Stars dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Blue Whales (#15) in Sichuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Golden Stars will play at home against Jiangsu Dragons (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
