Regular Season Round 8: Sichuan BW - Jilin NE T. 102-112

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Sichuan where 13th ranked Blue Whales (3-5) were defeated by fourteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (3-5) 112-102 on Tuesday. Jilin Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Blue Whales' 54. They outrebounded Blue Whales 51-36 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jilin Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) responded with 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists and his fellow American import power forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Blue Whales' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jilin Tigers moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Shanxi Z. Jilin Tigers will face higher ranked Flying Leopards (#4) in Yingkou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
