Regular Season Round 8: Beijing Ducks - Shanghai S. 112-93

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sharks (6-2) against eleventh ranked Beijing Ducks (4-4) on Tuesday night. Visiting Sharks were crushed by Beijing Ducks in Beijing 112-93. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sharks. Beijing Ducks shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) who scored that evening 31 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American guard Aaron Jackson (190-86, college: Duquesne) supported him with 18 points and 14 assists. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) did not help to save the game for Sharks. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) added 21 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Five Beijing Ducks and four Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beijing Ducks moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Sharks at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. They share it with Liaoning FL. Beijing Ducks will play against higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#5) in Hangzhou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sharks will play at home against Gold Lions and hope to get back on the winning track.
