Regular Season Round 13: Ryukyu GK - Fukuoka Rizing 73-77

Leading Ryukyu GK (10-3) recorded its third loss in Okinawa on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (2-11) 77-73. American center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: W.Kentucky) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and international guard Narito Namizato (172-89) added 12 points and 10 assists respectively for Ryukyu GK in the defeat. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains sixth place with 2-11 record. Loser Ryukyu GK dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Chiba Jets. Fukuoka Rizing will meet league's leader Tochigi Brex on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ryukyu GK will play against the league's second-placed Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
