The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Diamond Dolphins as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Diamond Dolphins defeated 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars in Nagoya 72-56. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and his fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) scored 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins (11-2) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Tochigi Brex. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Shiga L-Stars will play next round against strong Toyama Grouses trying to get back on the winning streak. Diamond Dolphins will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Akita Happinets at home.
