Regular Season Round 8: GKS Tychy - AZS AGH KR 112-102

Rather expected game when 9th ranked AZS AGH KR (3-5) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked GKS Tychy (5-3) 112-102 on Wednesday. GKS Tychy dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to AZS AGH KR's 44 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. GKS Tychy looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Michal Jankowski (191-87) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Maciej Maj (200-88) who added 26 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Center Michal Sadlo (205-94) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Iwan Wasyl (193-97) scored 21 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. GKS Tychy have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Enea Astoria and Polfarmex Kutno. Newly promoted AZS AGH KR keeps the ninth position with five games lost. GKS Tychy will face Gornik (#8) in Walbrzych in the next round. AZS AGH KR will play at home against SKK Siedlce and hope to win that game.
