Regular Season Round 8: Slask Wroclaw - Gornik Walbrzych 91-78

Not a big story in a game in Wroclaw where 8th ranked Gornik (4-4) was defeated by second ranked Slask (7-1) 91-78 on Wednesday. They made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Slask outrebounded Gornik 47-31 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Gornik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists (was perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 15 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Hubert Kruszczynski (187-95) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Five Slask and four Gornik players scored in double figures. Slask maintains second position with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader Sokol Lancut. Newly promoted Gornik keeps the eighth place with four games lost. Slask will face Biofarm PZN (#13) in Poznan in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gornik will play at home against GKS Tychy (#5) and hope to win that game.
