Regular Season Round 7: Keflavik - KR 77-73

There was a change at the Dominos League leadership position after last games. Round 7 most important game was a defeat of league's leader KR (5-2). They were defeated by fourth ranked Keflavik (5-2) 77-73 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of KR. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 22-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Guard Katla Gardarsdottir (161-99) helped adding 11 points. Keflavik's coach Jon Gudmundsson used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Kiana Johnson (171-93, college: Virginia Union) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international power forward Unnur Jonsdottir (181-89) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Keflavik have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with KR and Stjarnan. KR will play next round against Haukar trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Keflavik will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Stjarnan on the road.
