There was no surprise in Dongguan where 9th ranked Sports Lottery (4-4) was defeated by top-ranked Vermilion Birds (8-0) 79-74. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Vermilion Birds outrebounded Sports Lottery 44-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. International center Yueru Li (192-99) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. International Sijing Huang (192-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. American guard DeWanna Bonner (193-87, college: Auburn, agency: ProDep Management) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Hengyu Yang (194-95) added 21 points in the effort for Sports Lottery. Sports Lottery's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vermilion Birds have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bayi. Sports Lottery lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Vermilion Birds' next round opponent will be league's leader Bayi Kylin in Nanchang and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sports Lottery will play at home against Golden Bulls (#12) and hope to win that game.
