Regular Season Round 9: Kongsberg - Baerum Basket 90-67

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kongsberg. Second ranked Kongsberg faced 4th placed Baerum Basket. Host Kongsberg (9-1) smashed guests from Bekkestua (7-4) 90-67. The game was mostly controlled by Kongsberg. Baerum Basket was better in second period 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Baerum Basket 46-33 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kongsberg players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for forward Chris-Ebou Ndow (201-93, college: NW Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Matias Save (191-96) contributed with 29 points for the winners. Four Kongsberg players scored in double figures. American guard Joshua Hart (194-90, college: Va Intermont) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and guard Stian Mjos (183-89) added 11 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Baerum Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kongsberg. Defending champion maintains second place with 9-1 record having just three points less than leader Gimle BBK. Baerum Basket at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Kongsberg will play against league's leader Gimle BBK in Bergen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Baerum Basket will play at home against Nidaros Jets and hopes to get back on the winning track.
