Regular Season Round 7: Franca - Flamengo 84-77

Second defeat of league's leader Flamengo (6-2) against second ranked Vivo/Franca (7-1) 84-77 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Flamengo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Vivo/Franca made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. International forward Lucas Silva (209-95) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) added 18 points in the effort for Flamengo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Flamengo's coach Gustavo Conti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Flamengo at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Franca. Flamengo will play next round against Vasco Da G. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Rio de Janeiro - Vasco Da G..
