Important game to mention about took place in Hafnarfjordur. Seventh ranked Haukar (3-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Skallagrimur (2-4) 82-80 on Friday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Haukar players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Guard Hilmar Henningsson (194-0) notched 23 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and international forward Hjalmar Stefansson (196-96) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Aundre Jackson (196-95, college: Loyola, IL) did not help to save the game for Skallagrimur. Point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (192-93) added 23 points and 6 rebounds. Haukar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with IR. Newly promoted Skallagrimur keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Grindavik. Haukar will play against higher ranked KR (#4) in Reykjavik in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Skallagrimur will play at home against the league's second-placed Keflavik (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
