Regular Season Round 10: Huracanes - Laguneros 73-91

Bottom-ranked Huracanes (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-73 loss to fourth ranked Laguneros (4-5) in Tampico. They shot 62.5 percent from the field. American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) notched 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and naturalized American swingman PJ Reyes (196-88, college: Charleston) supported him with 22 points. Even 16 points by swingman Manuel Hernandez (193-91) did not help to save the game for Huracanes. Bahamas center Shaquille Cleare (203-93, college: Texas) added 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Five Laguneros and four Huracanes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Laguneros maintains fourth position with 4-5 record. Huracanes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with nine games lost. Laguneros will have a break next round. Huracanes will play again against Laguneros (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
