Everything could happen in Montevideo at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Atenas and 11th ranked Trouville had identical 4-4 record. But Trouville was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Montevideo 86-73 on Friday night. Atenas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Luis Hernandez (198) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Belardo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Atenas players scored in double figures. American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Santiago Massa (190-97) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Trouville. Atenas (5-4) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Urunday Univ. Loser Trouville dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Atenas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Verdirrojo.
