Everything could happen in Ningbo at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Bayi Rockets and 17th ranked Fly Dragons had identical 2-6 record. This time Bayi Rockets used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Beijing 113-102 on Friday night. Bayi Rockets dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Fly Dragons' 46. It was a great shooting night for Bayi Rockets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Fly Dragons were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Pierre Jackson (180-91, college: Baylor) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) added 27 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayi Rockets (3-6) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Shanxi Z. Loser Fly Dragons keep the seventeenth position with seven games lost. Bayi Rockets will face league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fly Dragons will play at home against the league's second-placed Sharks (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
