Regular Season Round 9: Jilin NE T. - Liaoning FL 106-100

There was an upset in Changchun where 4th placed Flying Leopards (6-3) were defeated by thirteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (4-5) 106-100 on Friday. Jilin Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Flying Leopards' players. The best player for the winners was Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who had a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who recorded 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: IPZ) added 24 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jilin Tigers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Fujian S. Defending champion Flying Leopards keep the fourth position with three games lost. Jilin Tigers will face higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (#4) in Urumqi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Flying Leopards will play on the road against Blue Whales in Sichuan and hope to win that game.
