Regular Season Round 7: Castello - Granada 69-78

There was no surprise in Castellon where 12th ranked Castello (2-5) was defeated by eighth ranked CB Granada (4-3) 78-69 on Friday. It was a great evening for Brazilian guard Carlos Cobos (193-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. The former international center Guillem Rubio (202-82) helped adding 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. At the losing side Javier Lucas (207-86) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Dominican power forward Juan-Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Granada moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Melilla and Oviedo. Castello lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Caceres. CB Granada will meet at home league's leader Lleida Basquet in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Castello will play against Real Canoe (#12) in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
