Regular Season Round 4: Independiente - Olimpico Ceres 70-66

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Olimpico (3-3) against fourth ranked Independiente (4-3) on Friday night. Visiting Olimpico was defeated by Independiente in a tough game in Santiago del Estero 66-70. Strangely Olimpico outrebounded Independiente 47-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. Point guard Damian Palacios (177-85) fired 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Nicolas Kalalo chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Independiente players scored in double figures. Swingman Pablo Martinez (197-82) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Tirrell Brown (198-93, college: Ouachita Baptist) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Independiente moved-up to third place, which they share with Rivadavia M. and Atenas Carmen. Newly promoted Olimpico dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Independiente will face league's second-placed Salta Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Olimpico will play against the league's second-placed Salta Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
