There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Nova Ves (3-4) beat on the road 5th ranked Prievidza (4-4) 82-71. They outrebounded Prievidza 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. The former international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American guard Eric Nottage (188-94, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Nottage is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was the former international Richard Korner (201-90, agency: 011 Sports) with 24 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Tim Derksen (192-93, college: USF) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Nova Ves moved-up to sixth place. Prievidza lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. Nova Ves will play against higher ranked Iskra Svit (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prievidza will play against the league's second-placed Zilina and hopes to get back on the winning track.
