Regular Season Round 7: Visby - A3 Basket 71-83

Bottom-ranked Visby Ladies (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-71 loss to leader A3 Basket (6-0) in Visby on Friday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-71. A3 Basket forced 20 Visby Ladies turnovers. Forward Abigail Asoro (183-93, college: Iowa Western CC) fired 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-French forward Alyssa Lawrence (185-95, college: Massachusetts) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Four A3 Basket players scored in double figures. American guard Branndais Agee (180-94, college: Michigan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Zakiya Saunders (175-95, college: Cent.Florida) added 17 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. A3 Basket have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alvik Basket. Visby Ladies at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. A3 Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Visby Ladies will play on the road against Lulea Basket (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
