Regular Season Round 5: Grodno-93 - Rubon 109-95

Undefeated leader Grodno-93 delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Rubon (2-4) 109-95. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Rubon was better in fourth quarter 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno-93 players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Rubon's players. Ukrainian point guard Maksim Miroshnichenko (182-96) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 16 assists. Guard Ilya Sharipov (198-91) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) answered with 29 points and 4 assists and Egro Potupchik (191-94) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rubon. Five Grodno-93 and four Rubon players scored in double figures. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Grodno-93. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Rubon lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Impuls BGUIR. Grodno-93 will play against Impuls BGUIR (#7) in Minsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rubon will play at home against RCOP Tsmoki and hopes to get back on the winning track.
