Regular Season Round 8: Cornella - Mataro Feimat 72-76

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Cornella (2-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Mataro Feimat (6-2) 76-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Jaume Sole (195-91) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized GMBn forward Omar Toure (199-94) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Mataro Feimat players scored in double figures. Guard Xavi Guirao (190-87) produced 18 points and center Alexandre Sanmartin (201-84) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Mataro Feimat maintains third position in Group C-A with 6-2 record having just two point less than leader Lliria, which they share with Tarragona and Mataro Parc Boet. Loser Cornella keeps the eleventh place with six games lost. Mataro Feimat will face Salou (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cornella will play against Calvia and hope to win that game.
