Regular Season Round 10: Le Havre - La Charite 82-78

There was no surprise when 7th ranked La Charite (5-5) was defeated at home by third ranked STB Le Havre (7-3) 82-78 on Saturday. Naturalized American Nicholas Pope (196-84, college: Oklah.Baptist) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) chipped in 12 points and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh) responded with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Senegalese power forward Papa Beye (202-90) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. STB Le Havre have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Lorient. Loser La Charite dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. STB Le Havre will face Lourdes-Tarbes (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Charite will play against CFBB (#14) in Paris and hope to win that game.
