Regular Season Round 5: Evropi - Koroivos 77-70

The game in Pefkohori was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Koroivos (3-2) played at the court of eighth ranked Evropi (3-2). Evropi managed to secure a 7-point victory 77-70 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Koroivos. Evropi made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Forward Vassilis Kitsoulis (203-83) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and power forward Konstantinos Kampouridis (204-99) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Evropi players scored in double figures. Naturalized German forward Dimitris Cheilaris (206-90) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Latvian point guard Toms Leimanis (190-94) scored 20 points and 7 assists. Evropi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Koroivos. Evropi will face league's second-placed Iraklis in Thessaloniki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koroivos will play at home against Charilaos TM and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the A1 just one year after relegation.
