Regular Season Round 6: Alkar - Bosco 86-80

Bottom-ranked Bosco (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-80 loss to seventh ranked Alkar (3-3) in Sinj on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 27-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Alkar made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Josh Brown (190-94, college: Temple) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Domagoj Kanaet (17-93) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Alkar players scored in double figures. Alkar's coach Srdjan Helbich used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was center Mladen Primorac (210-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Nikola Korac (186-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Alkar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with H.Analitica. Newly promoted Bosco still closes the standings with six games lost. Alkar will face higher ranked KK Zadar (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bosco's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb H.Analitica.
