Regular Season Round 5: Liffey Celtics - DCU Mercy 80-57

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kildare. Leader host Liffey Celtics (4-0) smashed 4th placed DCU Mercy (2-2) 80-57. Liffey Celtics made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Briana Green (180, college: Southern, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Her fellow American import guard Allie Leclaire (178, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Aishling Sullivan (175-88) produced 12 points and 4 assists and American forward Samantha Hyslip (183, college: Stonehill) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. DCU Mercy's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Liffey Celtics have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Glanmire. DCU Mercy at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Liffey Celtics will meet league's leader Glanmire in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. DCU Mercy will play against NUIG Mystics (#10) and hope to secure a win.
