Regular Season Round 8: UCAM Murcia II - Benidorm 62-72

There was an upset when top-ranked UCAM Murcia II (4-1) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Benidorm (2-3) 72-62 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Unai Bereziartua (202-92) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Alvaro Martin (183-92) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Benidorm players scored in double figures. Antonio Burgos produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and forward Imanol Artinano (203-95, college: Alders.-Broad.) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. UCAM Murcia II's coach Andres Medina gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Benidorm moved-up to fourth place in Group E-B, which they share with L'Alfas and UPCT Basket. Loser UCAM Murcia II still keeps top position with one game lost. Benidorm will face L'Alfas (#4) in Alfas Del Pi in the next round. UCAM Murcia II will play on the road against Cartagena and hope to win that game.
